Firstly, it's NOT as hard as it looks. Honestly.
When you look at the pictures you may get the notion that this is all severe, or maybe too weird, or possibly that there's a whacko behind the camera. Actually, being tied up isn't all that hard or scary. It can at times be uncomfortable, and sure, it IS kinky. But believe it or not, the job can be fun. We keep a keen sense of humor about everything, the photographer doesn't leer at you and everyone has a professional and positive attitude. Of course, you have questions. Let's see if I can answer some of them.
Q: Exactly what does a model do working for Centaur Celluloid?
A: The focus of the photography and video is restraint. We DO NOT do any pain, like whipping or nipple clamps. We DO NOT do any sex, no penetration of any kind. What we do is bondage. A photo session entails getting tied up in a series of different positions across a 4-hour workday. We do a lot of clothes-on work, but occasional nudity is required. The binding is almost exclusively rope; sometimes we use handcuffs. Gags are a necessity for every scene, and range from ballgags to cloth to tape. A video shoot is most often done with two models, and some acting is required. As opposed to simply posing, in video the model is required to struggle in an effort to get free.
Q: How long have you been in the business?
A: Centaur Celluloid has been operating since 1999.
Q: Where do you operate?
A: The company is temporarily run out of a residence near Albuquerque, New Mexico, until we can find suitable studio space. Shooting is done mostly here, but we also do work at other locations when we can get them, and we even do occasional outdoor shoots.
Q: When do your models get paid?
A: At the end of the day we pay you in a business check.
Q: Do you provide the clothes and the makeup?
A: No. We work with the wardrobe you already have. And you are responsible for making yourself as pretty as possible.
Q: What are you looking for in a model?
A: Someone sexy. Not supermodel quality necessarily -- cute can be very sexy. We're looking for women with pretty faces and great skin. Being slender is absolutely essential -- you don't have to be a hard body, but thin is a requirement. You have to be comfortable with your body and possess positive attitude. And, without exception, you must be over 18 with an ID.
Q: How do I get to be a model for Centaur?
A: Send us a few pictures. They don't have to be professionally done, but we would like a good look at your face, and a very recent picture of you wearing something very tight or revealing. Send us your measurements, too. We'll call you back to schedule a test shoot and interview -- a session for which you'll be paid. Then you're on the road to being a nymph for Centaur Celluloid. Send them to: mind@centaurcelluloid.com
Q: How often does a model get work from Centaur?
A: It varies, but generally once a month.
Q: How do I know I won't be working for a real jerk?
A: Good question. If you call I can provide you with a couple phone numbers of models currently working for Centaur and you can get the skinny from them.
Go ahead and take the tour to get a taste of the full range of photography we do. And also take a look at "Secrets," where you'll get the skinny on what really goes on behind the scenes when making a feature DVD.
